Homebound Library Users

To be eligible for the service you must be a Tippecanoe Township resident and unable to come to the library due to a permanent condition, or a temporary condition that will last for six weeks or more and have no one who can pick up and deliver books. For example, you are no longer able to drive, have mobility problems, require extended bed rest, or have a broken leg. These conditions do not automatically qualify individuals for service. There may be a wait list to receive the service. A cover letter with an application form, reading preference form, and a release form will be sent to you. You may remain in the program for as long as you need the service. Homebound residents interested in the program can contact Beth Smith, Adult Services Director at 574-834-7122 Ext. 205.

To apply for Homebound Delivery service, print the Homebound Application Form and mail or take the completed form to North Webster Community Public Library. If you don't already have a library card, you can print a Library Card Application form, fill it out, and Send it to:

NWCPL
PO Box 825
North Webster, IN 46555.

You must have your library card before delivery can start. (Adobe Reader is required to view or print the forms.)

What to Expect from Homebound Services

Once a patron has joined the homebound program, he/she decides how many books to receive at a time (up to 10). Homebound patrons may choose their own books from North Webster’s collection using Evergreen Indiana or the staff can select items based on the answers to the questions on the back of the enrollment form.

Program Volunteers

To qualify to be a volunteer you must complete the Volunteer Application, be physically able to deliver library materials, possess a valid Indiana State driver's license, sign a release of liability, and have proof of current auto insurance. And you need to be comfortable working with older adults and the disabled. A volunteer may begin delivering materials only after being cleared by the Sheriff's Department. If you would like to be a volunteer please call the library at 574-834-7122 Ext. 205.
