Shock Cemetery

Search Database

Shock Cemetery is in the northeast corner of Section 3 in Tippecanoe Township. It is ½ mile east of State Road 13 and south of County Road 800 N. Extended. The cemetery is not visible from the road as it is surrounded by woodland.

The cemetery was last read October 29, 1976, by Mr. Lester H. Binnie. Since that time the cemetery had fallen into disuse and had become over grown. In 2004 Dick Mitchell from North Webster, Indiana, cleaned up the cemetery. In 2008 there was a new burial, and the cemetery is again open for continued use.

The new reading was done October 4, 2009 by Kristi Rhodes and Beth Smith. The cemetery was read from west to east and the rows were read from north to south. Any notation from Mr. Binnie’s reading in 1976 that was not visible October 4, 2009, will be shown in parentheses
